Bring back the norm

Hello from the other side

An early morning for everyone—TSA included

Will anyone else miss the 747’s?
Where did that phone come from? 😆

What do y’all miss most about the airport?
Yup. Westin Heavenly Bedding is back. I miss the little reading light, though. Maybe DL don’t expect people to still peruse dead trees.
It’s still a 764. Yuck. Delta has the oldest fleet. 🤢
Agreed, D1. Sometimes people ask if I’m repping Delta by how highly I praise them. D1 FAs - especially on 2-aisle aircraft (because talking over the other pax’s head on a D1 757 kinda sucks) have always been engaging and the best service of the US carriers. On TATL or TPAC routes, you’ll run into some of the heavy-seniority FAs who hail from Pan-Am, NWA, or even Western Airlines (predecessor to NorthWestern). Had quite a few
wistful conversations upon FAs seeing Pan Am Platinum and TWA Ambassador bag tags.
While I haven’t flown the ME3, I do hear service there is spectacular. LH I find brusque and businesslike; MU service is decent, but very formulaic; TG is fantastic but being based in the US not really useful to me much; and while VS isn’t bad per se, I think they were much better in the mid-2000s.
All that said, I’m sticking with DL where I can. Lately especially I’ve noticed FAs stopping by every seat and thanking Medallion members by name and status for flying and keeping them working. Maybe I’m just a big softie at heart but I find that touching and an acknowledgment of how bad C19 lockdowns have been in their lives. I’m glad to be traveling with them again.
My wife and I recently flew this type from SLC to Maui but didn’t get the pillow and blanket, did you get it on your flight?
