Most consulting projects are bs so makes sense.
Our fee is higher than their salary😄 but what they r missing is that we are not getting all the money
Most of them can't give a presentation to anyone but other engineers. They couldn't raise a business case to allocate funding to their teams. They have no perspective on the industry outside of pet issues because they've worked at the same company for 15 years. They don't understand the value of a strategy and prefer working one sprint at a time. The list could go on. Everyone plays a role, the engineer has value, but it doesn't sell any of it.
I find they tend to have expertise in a microcosm of their world and cannot figure out how to communicate - even within their own governance structures (if those even exist)
