Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

I would assume not, you have to fly to get status, which is the point of a loyalty program. Maybe there's a credit card offer that can help you out?
I've successfully maintained SPG Platinum for the last three years without travelling much for work. I travel with friends and family not in consulting and that don't care about points/status, so whenever possible I make sure that I am the one to book rooms. I stay in SPGs whenever possible. And I have both SPG credit cards to lower the nights requirement. Despite all of this, I have ended up doing a mattress run the last couple of years in December.
Overall the perks are worth it to me. I get upgraded enough, free breakfast, etc.
Yes you can do status match but may have had to start this earlier: most status matches, delta included give you a three month trial period where if you fly enough you get the status for a year. You can get it for free for 3 months though- will not be able to challenge again for next 3-5 years. Use wisely

Yes...although I've been loyal to United I am not beholden to them, I know sometimes an airline will match your status if you switch to them...wondering if I could switch to AA or Delta or something and they'll give me the points and a year of similar status. Hotels it's not as big a deal
Wondering if anyone has done something similar
I'd just make a new account with a new email and do a challenge.
Tell them you had a baby, it worked for me! (But I did have a baby...?)
Thanks A1 and W1. I think it's a good idea to save the status match bullet...and I think the credit card might be the way to go for hotels. I certainly miss the days of former employer who let us use personal credit cards for business travel. What a way to rack up points.
The baby thing seriously worked? I actually did...
