Hey,
Is it a good idea to join Paypal for Software Engineer III from Walmart Software Engineer III, for the base salary of 35LPA and 9L RSUs per year for Chennai location ? I am currently withdrawing 24LPA as base and 4.2 as Variable and 3.5L RSUs vested for 4 years.
I have been told that I'll be part of Risk team under Paypal Transactions domain. Any Idea how is the work culture and tech stack here in this team?

Hi everyone, I have 2 years of experience in a service based industry as a Java developer, and I am eager to work hard and switch to a reputed product based organisation, but I am not getting proper time to study and practice data structures and algorithms, as I have so much to learn and understand things which are related to my project. Any suggestions would be appreciated and I'll try to inculcate it. Thanks in advance! Amazon Oracle Samsung Microsoft Cisco Salesforce Arcesium Uber

All depends on what you’re looking to get out of the move?
Need more details. Comp increase? What do you want? Slalom, you don’t travel as much, and the culture I heard is very nice. People are collaborative and less cutthroat compared to Deloitte
Slalom seems like a good place to learn how to “drive a practice” given the start up culture and relative newness of the firm which would be a good resume builder for you. Even some junior partners at Big4 don’t have the luxury to fully own the development of their practice area as there are layers and layers of leadership and support staff that may distract from or slow down the progression of the vision the partner has. Given this, I doubt you are in the position at deloitte to get anywhere near fully owning and driving the M&A it strategy practice.
TLDR: Join Slalom to add another tool to your toolbox (I.e., learn how to develop and drive a practice area)
Why do you want to leave in the first place?
what would the new role be?
Well, I am on track for promotion at Deloitte or so I thought. I was just told that i had been working with a Partner who wasn’t aligned to the right branch within the M&A offering. So I probably won’t get promoted. I did a ton of initiatives, have excellent reviews on everything including client work.
Bottom line, I give up. A Slalom recruiter has been trying to get me in for an in person meeting for a couple of months now. So decided to meet with her.
I do M&A IT Strategy work.
Agreed, depends what you’re going for. There’s some smart folks. There’s some experienced folks. But sometimes you’ll have to do more with less, it’s more delivering outcomes and less about planning and strategy. Sometimes you’re put into impossible situations with client delivery and resources around you, other times your expectations are too high. But WLB is real, you get to control your own destiny, pursue passion projects or clients, and own your brand. And the people are collaborative, awesome, and supportive. Not as crazy politics. But less structure and eminence.
