If I read it right, you are on deal side. People go to top investment banks, spend couple of years or more to transition to PE.
You are lucky that you moved from B4 to PE. I would highly recommend staying there, try to adjust yourself and make your way up in the world of PE.
Grind it out

I’d spend at least 6 months to a year before jumping. Not a good luck to leave after only a few months

*good look
I moved from B4 as well and feel your pain. I've been at my firm for almost a year and a half so have had more time to transition, but there's no doubt that it is a challenging move to make. There's no way around the fact that finance culture sucks - I think a lot of people in finance *know* that, but don't fully grasp it because they have no frame of reference for what a normal job is like, both in terms of WLB and in leadership/management styles.
I'd recommend trying to tough it out to the 1 year mark - the experience you'll have really cannot be rivaled and you'll still be in a position to either a) go back to Deloitte or b) parallel to a more low key investing role (like working at an endowment) that you won't otherwise be able to get.
Comp went +50% but so did the hours. Starting to feel like it’s not worth it being only 2 months in.
Yes 55 was pretty much the average. Worst crunch weeks was around 80 but most weeks around 50-55
Reach out to your old team.... go back.
I particularly moved to PE ops and have a better WLB and Salary. It's like 40% of the workload I had before, and that's what is driving me nuts. 🤣
How do you like the switch to PE Ops? Considering a similar move
Deals team or ops
Deal team? How? No wonder you don’t like the work. We at Deloitte are not transaction focused the way a PE firm is
What was your previous role at B4? May be able to shed some light here.

Seems like exactly what I’m trying to do. Part of it may have been aspirational to land in PE, now that you’ve realized it’s not what you made it out to be, I’d go back, assuming you get to continue to do what you enjoy…
Grind out two years to save that $$$
Thanks for the input everyone. My aim is to at least grind it out for a year - hoping it improves. PS it’s mostly colleagues why I’m disappointed. It’s a shit show in terms of leadership. One director who has 0 leadership experience and got there through his family. Another who thinks he is an investment banker from the 90s. The work isn’t too bad, just not as interesting as I thought it would be.
