Man, Nordstrom Rack is breaking my heart. Saw a beautiful blue pinstripe Ralph Lauren three-piece suit. It looked like the kind of suit a young lawyer would buy after he wins his first big case.

Absolutely beautiful suit but I could not justify dropping a thousand dollars on it.

I mean it’s Nordstrom rack. Doesn’t that mean it’s significantly marked down?

like

That’s a significant markdown. I would consider buying it. Do it. Just be frugal. It’s a nice suit!

like

Check ebay. Also, $1k for a suit that fits and gets a lot of wear actually isn't bad, so your cost per wear may be below a cheaper suit in the long run.

You can wear the Ralph Lauren suit for 20 years. Macy’s? Maybe 3-5?

I try believe in the want vs need rule. But once in blue moon you have to do something for yourself or else what’s the point.

Oof! That's expensive, but Nordstrom doesn't have a reputation for being affordable.

Well Nordstrom rack does

Buy the suit first.

Just graduated with Aerospace Engineering degree. I am interviewing for multiple positions at once with different companies. One gave me an offer and they want me to get back to them within 2 days. I still have other interviews scheduled and some for higher paying jobs (around 90k) What should I do?
I do like the company that gave me an offer but their base pay was 80k and they went up to 85k. Is asking for them to match the 90k too much? The position is associate systems engineer.

A friend was rewatching old episodes of Suits, which admittedly I’ve never seen. The main character starts at this law firm where associates are given cubicles not offices. I am a new (lateral) associate at a small firm where everyone currently works from the office. When I started, I wasn’t told specific firm hours. I’ve tried to figure out when to come and go based upon when the partners arrive and leave, but their schedules are very inconsistent. The other associates don’t have helpful guidance for me. Assuming that if I ask the partners they’ll say to use my discretion, what are reasonable hours to keep?
