Should stop normalizing working on weekends/overtime when there is no true deadline

like

in other words, you are working some weekends if you work for me

That shit don’t work no more. Manager says that and nobody is working on the weekend

like

My manager: “don’t work too late on that tonight, we just need it done by lunch tomorrow. Oh but I want to review it asap in the morning at 7am”.

But it's due next Friday. Fire drill for nothing.

So maybe you've never experienced any real fire drill 🤣 I'd rather dealing with this type of thing than a real fire drill. Due tomorrow, do tomorrow is insane. Speaking from a voluntold firefighter 🤣🤣🤣

Hi All! For those that have had HSGs/saline sonos done, did it mess up the timing of that cycle? Hi HR Professionals! I am revising our current employment application form. Per SHRM, I was just curious if any HR Professionals completely removed the following fields: social security number, recommend salary, graduation dates, military discharge info, race, maiden name like (Ms. Mrs. Ms), & criminal history questions. I was just curious what other Employers/HR Professional have done. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Anyone from EY-Parthenon, what does a typical senior consultant look like resume/experience wise? If I have audit and FDD experience as a Senior for 3 years (currently in FDD), a CPA, no MBA, is that enough to get in to EY-P? Or is the MBA basically required? What would I be missing? Thanks!

I joined EY in January. Had no work all of January, but was busy for February and some of March. I have been unassigned for about 4 weeks now, sending availability emails to all of the service lines we are allowed to reach out to for work. I should not have come here 🤦🏼‍♂️ I know it’s nice to have some down-time, but when every day is staring at a computer, the days are SO long.

Dumb questions but genuinely curious:

1) Let’s say you’re a recent undergrad candidate with no internships on your resume. What’s the deciding factor that you’re qualified for Advisory vs Tax vs Audit? Is it school, gpa, etc.?

2) Why can’t you switch from Tax to another SL without having to pull strings? I understand that there’s a difference in tax vs book experience but why does the Accounting field gatekeep other SLs? It’s not like we’re incapable of learning other areas.
