You're the first person on other side (I assume left) that has called founders work brilliant. Thank you.
Most (from my perspective as right leaning person) denounce them as privledged white males, and are ready to tear down the ideas they founded our country on.
Individual liberty
Limited government
Due process
Amongst others.
Anyway. It's been a long week. Thank you for making one comment to help me see there is more common ground.
I used the word tools vs natural rights to mean the same things: put my “this is where we disagree” line before the tools line. I think I may have edited that paragraph wrong - the this is where we disagree line is in reference to how we interpret the constitution. So, if that discrepancy is what you’re talking about, then my bad. If you think I’m just trampling on the constitution based on my center left views, then you’re more than free to think that. You can be angry at the fringe left just like how I can be angry at fringe right. We each have our views on what the constitution supports and doesn’t support, will likely believe the other side is wrong.
The gun rights debate is where we differ - it’s going to be us finger pointing to extreme rhetoric from fringe sides if we continue the convo on this point. Like you said, it’s been a long week already, so I’m going to leave the point there
