MBB folks wonder if you can give some advice! I never expected to work in consulting but landed a job at Deloitte a few yrs ago. Really enjoy the work and was promoted to Sr. C here. A BCG recruiter messaged me out of the blue to recruit me to Consultant role at BCG. I’m wondering if those of you already in MBB would recommend a lateral move from D to BCG?

At D I work <=40 hrs per week (usually less). I make $115k. Base at BCG would be $190k. Are you all enjoying BCG/MBB? Would you go for it?

if you had the option to accept a senior copywriter role at a trendy retail company (so a promotion), or a copywriter role at a popular tech company (with no prior experience in tech) which would you choose?

How difficult is it to start a solo firm? I’m a first year attorney working in insurance defense in Florida. I love my firm and the mentoring I’m receiving and I’m definitely not looking to move anytime soon, but I would love to start my own firm once I feel competent. Maybe in a few years. Is Operations paid the least at your respective firms? I was hired to a Client Service Delivery role with a heavy focus on project management. I regularly interface with leadership internally and at the client. But, I am aligned to the “Operations” capability and make the least of my teammates who perform seemingly identical work but are aligned to “Strategy and Consulting.” I worry I’m on a career path to being paid the least wherever I go, because Operations is in my title and background.
