Mid-Size, Private, Senior (New Job: 4th month in) Close is in a few days and I'm drowning in preclose deliverables. My exam is next Thursday, I was refused PTO for it so I need to make it up during the weekend.

I can't wake up early and study, I'm not alive then. I have been leaving work at around 9 lately, get home to prepare dinner, and slept over my notes yesterday. Boss is toxic & I'm too focused on worrying over tomorrow to care about waking up or studying.

Hey all, I’m considering a position with KPMG’s Deal Advisory / M&A service line as an M. What are your thoughts on 1) work life balance, 2) business outlook, and 3) culture? The salary is very competitive.

One of the things that my ADD coach helped me with was realizing that I wasn’t prioritizing activities that help me feel recharged. Between work and home responsibilities, I was just burnt out and overwhelmed.

So now when I start to get burned out I focus on reducing auditory overwhelm, getting outside, listen to music, get comfortable, read a fun book, etc.

As we’re heading into the weekend, what are some things you do to recharge and give yourself a break?

What’s the going rate for a commercial senior underwriting role and what companies have you found to be most enjoyable with a solid work life balance? Personally love where I’m at, but curious to see what else is out there.

I’ve been at a job for a few months and hate it - partners set unrealistic deadlines, micromanage, and create work that truly is not necessary/push urgency when there is no real urgency. I had other offers prior to accepting this job that may still be options, and going back to my old job (for a pay cut) might also be an option. I can’t tell if this is just burnout, growing pains, or just an untenable work environment. Would you ride it out for a year at new job or pursue other options? HELP!

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. I’ve taken FAR a few times at this point. I got two 74s and this past one I got a 70. I felt like the last exam (which was a few weeks ago) was extremely harder than the other ones. Has anyone else noticed the exam getting extremely tough? Or do you think I just got a one off?
