Conveniently, I can work anywhere, but as you can imagine, benefits are non-existent. I've always wanted to become a cop and then a detective. The job starts at $25 an hour. I started comparing the salaries, and the doubts grew. My friends are making me second-guess it too. Do I stay or chase my dreams and adjust my lifestyle by half?

Has anyone gone from a federal gov’t employee to private industry? I’m considering making the swap for better pay, I make decent money where I’m at and I know I have job security. Just trying to see if there is anyone else that was bold enough to make the leap.

In the HR discussion, we both agreed on 30L CTC (10% Variable) and 1L joining bonus. But later after 2-3 days when they need to release the offer, HR is saying they got the approval for 28L CTC(10% variable) and 2L joining bonus.

Should I take that offer and look for other options or straight forward reject the offer and then look for other options?
