EY recruiting is such a mess. Applied and did a pre-recorded video interview, heard nothing for like 3 weeks. Then I get a random call saying they liked me and would I be available to attend an interview the following day. I say yes but never receive an email or additional details. Call back the number and it goes to voicemail. The following week I get a rejection email. Just so frustrating EY
Wow. Buzz-feed knows me so well…

Well really it'll come down to where you can find something, not where you want to find. That's how crazy it is.
Oakland
Agree with kpmg1. Good luck and get ready to feel really poor!
Seriously, your first apartment/room might be crazy expensive because unless you have connections and you are already here, that's what you'll end up finding. Finding an affordable room here is harder than finding a job. And with everything you need to be on the ground, here, to find it and take it asap. I found my second room by pure luck. Sf housing market is seriously no joke. As far as the cities go, anything close to public transport will work. Certain parts of Oakland are nice, Berkeley is nice, alameda is nice. Avoid Richmond. Or you might want to live in South Bay.
Don't move.
Hey Op! I'm also considering moving to SF. Which is why I asked to be put on a few jobs in the area before I finalize the move. But if you plan on renting alone in the city - good luck. Better to look for roommates if you plan on living in the city.
Apartments are tiny in SF. Move downtown Oakland. It's the best of both world.
