Bain & Company Hi everyone,
I am currently working as a Software Engineer in Persistent Systems.
I have total exp of 8 months and serving notice period. I have offers from Mckinsey and BCG for their tech roles, but I wish to switch to consulting.
Could anyone please refer me or if you know someone who could refer me at Bain & Company for the Associate Consultant position?
Thank you in advance.

Basically anything where you get more responsibility is more stress. It's more a question about how you go about dealing with it than avoiding it.
Being in the spot to even be offered more responsibility is a good thing though, feel proud about that regardless.
The question is do you want to lead, or do you just want more money? If you don’t want to manage people…don’t do it.
Did you intend to reply to me? Seems like this might have been meant to be elsewhere.
Growth can feel uncomfortable at first — like stepping into a higher class without knowing what to expect. But that’s how life teaches us.
What feels new and difficult today will become normal tomorrow. Don’t get confused by the beginning. Stay patient, keep learning, and focus on the skills that matter for your next level.
Every challenge is just preparation for where you’re going. goodluck

If you are not willing to learn new skills anymore, then you can stay where you are. I don't and won't recommend you stay at your present role when you have already proven you can learn new skills on the fly. I will, suggest learning something so new it will give you an opportunity of better senior role whilst you have accepted this senior role at your present company

You won’t lose your technical skills! Anyone wanting to grow into either route (IC or EM) needs to know how to lead a team
Do you want to be a leader (and/or manager) and have extra responsibility and stress, and ultimately climb the corporate ladder? Is that your goal, and is that fulfilling to you? If so, go for it and keep your technical skills relevant as you go. Otherwise, If you want to remain a technical individual contributor, and not become a redundant middle-manager that will likely get cut when the company restructures, then try to find a horizontal technical path that doesn't require you to sacrifice what you value. I've been lead and a manager (briefly) and hated it, but I hate corporate politics and not really the type to "obey" hierarchical power structures.
