My current healthcare contract is wrapping up, so I’m starting to look ahead. I’m available soon, but I don’t want to seem impulsive. What’s the best way to communicate readiness while still being selective? I want to start approaching recruiters but I’m trying to strike the right balance.

Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.

I am expecting an offer from Master Card for Senior Software Engineer position in O Fallon MO. Please let me know what kind of base salary I can expect with 11 yrs experience . I don’t wanna undersell but also trying to avoid being aggressive but quote a decent number which will be achievable. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Is 125k $ base a fair value for or I can pitch higher? They have a 15 to 20 % bonus on top of base pay and a 10% match on 401k which the recruiter keep highlighting.

Ok, I haven’t done an HSA previously, but considering it for my family during this next open enrollment. What do I need to know about high deductible plans? How do y’all feel about the HSA - any downsides? I’m honestly a little worried about the higher OOP costs, but we’re also not significant users/consumers of healthcare, knock on wood.
