Creatives

My experiment of applying to art director jobs outside of New York is proving very successful I'm getting offers to interview for no less than 95k and ahmazing benefits plus relocation.

Kelsey, I have lived in nyc for years, tried other places, and decided I can live nowhere else. It’s not for everyone. But if you think it might be for you, it’s absolutely worth trying once in your life. Good luck!

The public transportation is less and less reliable the more people ride it. You'll spend and hour usually commuting to and from work. Salaried positions mean indentured servitude.

This also proves that NYC companies are pushing down wages with the excess of creatives looking for work.

@kelsey yeah the market is terribly competitive and the hours are insane. Did you like having a life? Kiss it good by cause your life is owned by the company.

Don’t. If you do, don’t make it hard on yourself to leave. Pack lite. The market here sucks. There’s nothing wrong with coming here for a year to build your resume or portfolio and bounce.

Thanks for the hope OP ... San Francisco’s got a lot but cost of living makes it undesirable to me. I’m focusing on Florida. Yep, I said it. My family is there. (I’m in LA).

I'm aiming for cities where the cost of living is 15-30% less than New York.
