My husband and I planned to relocate a couple months ago. I got hit by the covid hiring freeze but he didn’t. He moved for his new role & I planned to stay in my job here until hiring picked up. Now there seems to be a “second wave” and I’m getting nervous. I’m hundreds of miles away from my entire family, a second round of quarantine (in my city) seems likely, and I’m stuck in a job I was anxious to leave a year ago. I’m so sad, lonely and depressed. I think I need to just quit. Any recs?

I'm in Wisconsin, currently teaching full time, and I love my school district, so it's not like I can take a couple of years off. I have done extra classes for them where we do stuff that I've picked up from others, but I want the certification.

I am an associate at a UMM and my employment contract has a 4 month non compete (yes, even for associates) but I am thinking of lateraling. What are the implications of breaking a non compete? I didn’t say anything when I signed because I was desperate for a PE offer but it seems so unfair as I am just a lowly associate. I am not so much worried about getting sued, but about my current employer tanking my reputation if I leave and break the non compete.
