The first thing you need to do is talk to somebody. That could mean counseling, a religious official, friends or family. The way you feel right now sucks, but is a feeling that will pass given a little time. Reach out, people are there to help you.
I’m not sure if this is personal or related to teaching. If it’s related to teaching, you may need to take a medical leave. If you see a therapist, they can write a FMLA for you which would protect your employee. It’s typically a non-paid leave unless you have accrued sick or personal days.
Regardless of your circumstances, please be in touch with people who can help you. It will be worth it to you and most certainly the people that love you. ❤️❤️

Don’t let admin steal your joy! Man up, and bounce out! Start researching a new school (same district- for retirement purposes) and plot your move. You deserve to be treated with respect and if you aren’t getting it at your current school, LEAVE! Find out when the transfer fair takes place and get ready.
I did this a few years ago and plotted my move and made my announcement after I was 💯% certain the transfer would happen. It was a 🎤 drop moment. No one saw it coming (I was at the same school for double digit years!). But I was TIRED of being the teacher with the behavior issues while my teammates had the dream classes!!
I still love teaching and I’m at a school that I enjoy! Sometimes we need a change! Do this for your mental health. If you still enjoy teaching, move to a school that will appreciate, support and listen to you! YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Can you look to move to another school? I've heard that in some districts there are penalties for leaving without completing the contract year. If that's the case, start looking for a position elsewhere for next year. If it isn't the case, start looking now. I went through this. Admin would roll me under the bus without a second thought. Dealing with unsupportive administration is the worst. Document your concerns/difficulties to your admin through emails, then send those emails to your own personal email address to keep for your records. If you have days accumulated, take one each month to get through it as best you can. I left for a new school where I'm supported. I'm hardly ever absent, because I don't need to "recover" from anything. Also, I agree about talking to others and getting the support you need to make it through in the meantime. I truly wish you the best of luck and just know others have been in your shoes.

Put yourself first. I don't know what that may look like for you. Maybe start with taking a personal day or two. Reorient yourself. Talk to someone. Find someone to support you and do something that fills up your cup.
I understand. A teacher friend of mine was crying when I spoke to her yesterday. I told her to take days off. Her co teacher has taken off FMLA. Until February. The class is out of control.
That sounds like a district problem— not yours! When you need time off take it! I did that over a month ago. Although it’s state mandated for all teachers to have duty free lunch and a planning period daily, I am yet to see that. The students are so out of control with parents telling us they couldn’t take away their child’s toy so we were told to deal with it! This is the same child who threw very heavy chairs at me (9 times one day!) he also threw a wooden puzzle at my face that I blocked and broke 2 fingernails down into the bed of the nails, and both of his heavy boots swung at my face (he nailed the previous teacher and busted open her lip! Another student elopes, kicks, hits, scratches, tore off my toenail, I have several who will just come and attack other kids for NO reason whatsoever. The help I get is that I can’t call parents and they come in, sweet talk them and exit right for us to be back in reality! I said my next injury will be reported to the police! I’m done!! These kids don’t belong in this classroom! These are deliberate acts and NOT a manifestation of their disability! I want to be out of there so badly but being single, I have to keep working! I will be looking for a new position next semester!
It's good that you are identifying this. Maybe you could try to identify in more detail what you feel is causing this so that you can get help and support with those specific things.

I’m sorry to say this, but get a therapist, get medication, and when you can, get out. I have 25 teaching months left till retirement- if it was any longer, I don’t think I could do it

I took a mental health weekend to the beach. I always tell myself I need to save money, not blow it. It has been worth it to get away and enjoy time with my kids. Not looking forward to checking out in the morning.
Well, I’m not going to tell you to find your “why”. 😠 I’m sorry you are at this point. Take a day or two off, talk to your doctor, or if you are close to your principal, talk to him/her. Medical leave is a thing, so if they can’t help you find some peace, then maybe take medical leave and decide your future. I know…this could be unpaid and we all need money…just an idea if you are desperate and don’t want to quit yet.
