My mother is 74 yrs old and works full- and my dad passed away in 2021. We tried to get his records from the VA when he was in Vietnam 1968 and 1969 and are unable to get his records bc the VA is stating hids records are sealed. I am not sure who or why. My dad received an honorable discharge. My mother needs help with her diabetes and other health problems. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could get those sealed records or a person to contact to see about his benefits. Help

Unless I’m missing something, prior military service doesn’t guarantee health benefits for a spouse….unless there’s full retirement

Did he retire after 20+ years with the military or did he just separate prior to 20 years? I am sorry for the loss of your dad, I hope you guys are doing OK.

I recommend scheduling any appointment with your local VA office or VSO. They should be able to look your Dad up in the system and give you some insight.

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then.
