I’m amazed there can be 2 bedrooms in 700 feet. I don’t know how you’ve survived 1.5 years
I lived in a 2bed2bath with 660. I have no idea how I lived there for 3 years.
Well, the money saved was nice..
We share a 1bed but 1 of us works on the kitchen table and the other uses a small desk in the bedroom. Problem solved
I work from the dining table too

Isn’t WFH about to end in a few weeks time? Sounds like you won’t have this problem for long unless WFH is a more permanent choice for the two of you
Lol
Just put a desk somewhere else even if it’s ugly

Get a WeWork, Regus, or Buró membership? Sounds too detrimental to your relationship to keep this up.
can you work from the dining room table ?
Can one of you rent a small office space at a wework or other Coworking space?
Similar situation. Found a folding computer table on Amazon that looks really good actually and was like $40. We keep it up in another bedroom during the week but can easily close it and put away when needed. It was $$ very well spent. It’s large enough for a laptop and a small monitor but if that is too big I’m sure you can find something smaller.
You could do a Murphy bed with a desk under it, if that makes sense. So when it’s folded down it’s a bed, but when it’s folded up it’s a desk. I’m considering one of those for my guest room.
Pro
Closet office. It requires shuffling storage around but I’ve definitely had to work out of closets through the years.
Find a good space. And then put a desk there. That's what I did.

My husband and I have been working from home together in a one bedroom, 850sf condo for the duration. We don’t even have an office to fight over, so our floor plans must be fairly different, but we each have a small folding desk in separate rooms. Like this one:
Best Choice Products 42in Folding Drop Leaf Desk Table https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B094MWQPY5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JJ5D9K82BTV5X2SV2ATN?psc=1
Literally in the exact situation, just slap 2 desks as far apart as possible with max sound seperation, both get airpods with sound cancelling and bingo
Try a ~700 sf 1 1/2 BR (1/2 BR is the office and has no wall) WFH setup with each of us alternating being on parental leave with a newborn. You’ll be grateful for your situation. We made it work.
We built a small wall desk in our living room! Look up wall desks and you should get lots of Results!
When I thought this was going to be a few weeks I bough a 3 foot folding table at Lowe’s and a table cloth. Easy to set up, store, and will be useable no matter where you end up living
A non-desk option is to get a tall laptop stand, wireless keyboard and mouse, and make a standing desk. I bought an adjustable laptop stand on Amazon and have it set up on my bedroom dresser (which is waist high - it probably wouldn’t work with a tall dresser).

Wall desk or one of you uses the dining table
I work from my mom’s house. Got any empty nester relatives close by?
I have an IKEA desk that has drop leaf sides so you can adjust how wide you want it to be. It’s been great for small spaces.
