Folks who do hiring, what do you think of adopting the following question in future interviews?

“Evidence suggests that teams that include a variety of perspectives and backgrounds will often produce more creative solutions and catch mistakes earlier. What background or experiences do you bring that will help broaden the perspective of our team?”

What kinds of answers would you hope to get to this question that would make your hiring decisions better?

This could be a good late stage question—since the candidate needs to have an understanding of the role and the team first in order to share insights into how they add new dimensions and perspectives. Otherwise it is too generic to be useful.

I think it could fall into the ‘diversity of thinking’ trap. I wouldn’t use it.

Your leading to the answer you desire. Don’t build it up

I'm a women in tech and typically get read as trans during interviews. If you ask this and your team is predominantly white, cis, and male, my first thought will be that I'm a token diversity hire and none of my concerns regarding D&I will be taken seriously.

I would rather you talk about how your team utilizes diversity and give examples of different perspectives that you valued.

Hello friends, I‘m looking for a job for my relative who has experience of more than nine years as Application Support. She can join immediately. I will much appreciate any lead/ referral.

Are there any good PM certification that’s worthwhile? Not something that’s on Udemy for 2 hours of coursework.
Most “certifications” I’ve seen seem a bit superficial… but my current PM job feels like a glorified project manager role so I was hoping to use my extra time to study/earn a certificate to show my skill. If possible.

I started working as a consultant with EY 8 months ago. Even though I'm content and learning a lot there, I think there are places where I might easily earn more money. I received a job offer last week from Alvarez & Marsal to work as a consultant at the Transaction Advisory Department (financial due diligence team), where I will be paid more fairly (salary & bonus). Should I accept it? Or would leaving EY that early not be wise?

Currently unemployed, and looking at a job offer of around 62k base, small firm. Not my preferred choice but this is the first offer in three months. They also took a month to get me the offer with corona and internal restructuring. Two questions:
1) The contract doesn’t mention a notice period in the probation period. What’s a good way to ask? 2) If I manage to secure another offer between contract signing and start date, would this involve any financial liabilities?

How would you recommend tackling a middle manager bad mouthing to team members and seniors despite having left the job? I worked as a consultant at a globally reputed firm but with a terrible, mind draining team culture — now the middle manager is bad mouthing and of course not communicating her inability to manage her own time, leading to work calls at 10 pm in night and abusive language at work.

As someone who is virtually our only compliance person at a mid-size company, I often get questions for legal advice. I am not an attorney and cannot give legal advice (my disclaimer), but I do look at the situation from a compliance/policy/process lens and urge to consult legal always. I feel as though it discredits me and my advice because I’m not an attorney. How can I better differentiate compliance from legal and still provide valuable advice?

Hey guys, newbie here please be gentle with me 😅. I have recently accepted an offer but my gut tells me it might not be the best for my future move. Do you think I should start looking and make use of the shorter notice period during my probation?

What kinds of rights and duties should employees/customers have when dissenting against unethical corporate behavior? How has Airbnb sought to not only protect those rights, but also give employees real influence over ethics-based decisions?

I could use some advice on this situation. I’ve been working for a small family owned business in Toronto Canada for about 4months. I’ve noticed a lot of unprofessional behaviour since I’ve started (yelling at workers infront of customers) I’ve bounced around different positions so much that the owner blames 98% of stuff on me when something isn’t done, even if it’s not my responsibility anymore.A week ago I asked for an employment contract to get this straight but nothing yet. What do I do?
