🙄 the older I get, the more convinced I become that the internet was a mistake. This is so mind-numbingly stupid. I've received a few questions I know were prompted by social media, but I've never actually had a patient or their family try to tell me how to do my job. If I was you, I'd be very tempted to tell them to leave and handle things on their own since they clearly know the field better than I do.
Rising Star
Wow that’s kind of mind boggling. At a certain point you just need to say no and let them decide what to do.
Since you are the professional and it seems that the patient is not following medical advice. At this point they are a liability to the practice and should be discharged. Im not with your office and dont know the ons and outs of this situation but that would be my recommendation. Being an influencer does not make a medical degree
Well before you dismiss what they found online maybe it would be worth listening
They would feel seen and heard. Then you can have a conversation about what does and doesn't work .
I will tell you my online sources are well cultivated and probably a decade ahead of my GYN And my primary
Sooooo that being said before you shut them down make very sure yo are right and they are miss informed because not everything out there is nonsense .
This is exactly the kind of garbage we are referring to. as a Licensed, clinical practitioner, if it comes from social media, it’s automatically garbage and I am not listening to a damn thing it says. Our clinical
knowledge comes from verified educational resources and no social media website counts as that. You saying that your “GYN plan” is a decade ahead is laughable. but you go on and follow through with that and I’ll look for you to tell us how it goes. As soon as I hear the words “it came from (insert social media website here) I’m done listening to you or thinking about whatever godawful advice you’ve taken. You wanna follow shite that isn’t clinically proven, be my guest. That’s on you. But don’t call me to bail your arse out after I’ve taken my clinically proven methods and departed.
Let them.
Let them be. It’s
Like the most oncology patient whose wife
Convinced him to be treated with vitamin E. At the end, he thought he should maybe use a different treatment plan. Twas too late then. Darwinism
Well registered respiratory therapist
My online gyn information comes from board certified gynecologists who are actively petitioning to have changes made to the ancient standard of care for menopause in all its stages and allllll their excitations come from studies done with solid scientific evidence . You you sit in your lofty ideals thinking our health care system is up to date and providing the best care . Some of us want better
Yikes, that sounds like a lot to deal with. I love when people just blindly trust the internet instead of their doctor. Sometimes you have to really sit down with them, show them you care, and gain their trust so they will follow your treatment plan.
then they wonder why we d/c with little effort or thought.
