What are your thoughts on Tesla stock ? Do you think it will reverse next year ? The company is in very good shape , it is getting smashed because of the twitter drama alongside high interest rate but i think it is very cheap stock today when i think about future prospects

The company does seem to be in decent shape with solid cash flow. The issue with the stock is valuation.

Tesla has short term issues like China demand implosion and more strategic concerns like rising competition from legacy OEMs, battery material costs, promised products that are years late, and a current product line that’s in desperate need of a refresh. Even if Elon wasn’t AWOL those are big questions.

I think Tesla’s revenue and cash flow can grow for many more years. But I don’t see how any rational person can justify the valuation at these levels. And most the Tesla stans were also all in on Cathie Woods and crypto…

People bought Tesla because they want to be associated with high technology, environment, upper middle class luxury, and an affordable sports car that out accelerates any ice vehicle

Nobody wants to be associated with a CEO that supports political violence, thinks
speech is good speech, and a celebration of antisemitism

Good company but not a cheap stock. Trading at ~50 P/E going into a recession with high interest rates is a tough situation. Could definitely be a good long term investment, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you could get it cheaper in the near future. I would definitely not expect a near term reversal.

Look at quarterly revenue reports over the last year. It’s definitely not growing at 50%/year anymore. Growth will be even harder to maintain in a recession, which is what Elon expects to happen soon.

Elon needs to stop selling…

Interesting. What do you think of Tesla's prospects considering every car manufacturer is deeply invested in the the EV space?

I believe tesla is far behind them in terms of software, try driving a tesla and a bmw , it’s like holding an iphone 14 and xiaomi , same experience

I think it has a lot farther to fall.

As a shareholder I think it’s been terrible down to all time lows. He needs to hire someone to run Twitter and get back to being the leader at Tesla. Put your ego aside to shareholders or future investors can start to buy at a lower price.

Stay clear till this Twitter debacle is over. He keeps selling stock which isn’t helping.

It will be over tomorrow morning. He will step down as a CEO and focus back on tesla

How about $RIVN and $NIO? Better or worse than $TSLA?

TSLA is unlikely to go bankrupt. Can’t say that about RIVN.

NIO’s financials can be trusted. The CCP will probably rig the game for NIO, but you still have no idea what the shareholders will actually get.

Currently undervalued, at least when using Benjamin Graham’s calculations

The CEO is killing domestic demand, and China is imploding with COVID as we speak.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!

When I was managing consulting projects, I told my teams that they should feel free to communicate with me if they had any issues or concerns. However, I also wanted their ideas about what they would do to solve the issue they are raising.

Situations can get "extreme," or small issues may arise when you are in the heat of the moment trying to accomplish your goals. That's normal.

But to change the pattern and prevent Burnout, you need to communicate with an action.
