My sister got laid off and is interviewing with BAE Systems and Guidehouse. She was working for a small company doing (federal) business analyst-type work. I don’t know much about either but hoping to get some answers from people who do so I can help her out. Anyone know about WLB, salary, culture? She has 5 YOE.

My PwC friends who were spun off to Guidehouse in DC jumped ship as soon as they could.

WLB at BAE is not great, but my father (yes it’s a my dad reference) was a VP there for 10 years. He loved it. It is a high performing group there.

Don't come to guidehouse. It is a dumpster fire. They pay well to mask it.

BAE Systems the arms company? What kind of role?

BAE will not have the same career trajectory. It is just a normal corporation so if you want a promo you need to apply for a more senior job. As opposed to the more conveyor belt approach at consultancies.

Guidehouse must be sector dependent. My pillar is great!

Depends on the sector. I like where I am at Guidehouse. I know someone who left BAE Bc it was horrible but everyone has different experiences.

A question I can’t seem to find a good thread about: How often do you interview? I really like my current position. I have great WLB, a great team, and a lot of good exposure to an industry that’s growing fast. I don’t have many complaints at all. That being said I feel like I need to interview to stay sharp in playing “the game” of my career. Do you all respond to every LinkedIn message? At the beginning of my career I think it’s really helpful to know my worth by interviewing. Thoughts?
