This seems like a trend across all sorts of companies where the leadership is desperately trying to justify sinking gobs of money into AI due to hype without fully grasping how it will work. I’m also not anti-AI, it has its uses, but it’s feeling more and more like AI is simply not useful enough for the astronomical price it takes to produce.
They paid a lot of money for that AI thing that someone told them was going to make a butt ton of money. So you're going to use it and make them feel better about their spending, that it's not actually helpful is irrelevant.
I use AI regularly as an assistant - to help me rephrase emails, to give me outline recommendations for presentations, to act as a critic for things I’ve written. I do not use it to write anything for me directly, but to refine.
I also use AI to generate images for presentations.
It definitely has its strengths and weaknesses.
Could you use AI videos like Synthesia has for creating training videos either internally or for customers for new features? I like co-pilot as well for some things. I find I use it now daily for all sort of things but I haven’t had to create any goals for AI related initiatives yet.
The only AI I use is firefly to generate bits and pieces to use for concepting layouts if I can’t find anything on stock sites. Beyond that there’s very little opportunity to use AI in my work even if I wanted to. If I wanted to get a subscription to midjourney or other more robust services I’d have to pay with my own money then apply for reimbursement every month, which I simply refuse to put up with the hassle of. Former management “challenged” us to use AI every single day, and yet isn’t making it easily accessible. I’m not jumping through hoops to lose skills through disuse thanks
They asks us to bring values out of AI tool we have and demonstrate how we can use AI for daily tasks. Honestly I use AI to summarize my rough note I take during a call with candidate other than that I don't find much use of them
It seems like the company is trying to figure this out by forcing it on their employees 😅🤣
