There are ways to do a balance transfer to a 0% interest card, as long as you pay it off before the specified end date. Not too familiar but I see offers for it all the time.
But if it's only 6k, I'd probably just lower my expenses and pay it off quickly.
Both is a good way to go. 20% apr is no joke
Credit cards are loans. This seems like a more unnecessary debt.
Cut off 401k contributions for a bit. Cut non essential expenses for a bit.

Zero fee balance transfer w/ 12mo 0% interest to start
I login and process a payment from my bank account.
Seems like a sound approach

You may be able to get a personal loan through your bank at a much better interest rate than the credit card.
Sofi typically has pretty low personal loan rates

Credit transfer at zero % rate or borrow against your taxable investment which will likely give you a lower rate than what companies charge for personal loans.
I funded half of my house down payment at 2% by taking a loan out against one of my brokerage accounts instead of selling those investments and triggering a taxable event. Also, I believe that interest expense generated from that loan is tax deductible if you itemize?
Taking on debt to pay another debt is never a good strategy. Better to find another job or find ways to make more money. If you did it the first way, you still have debt (maybe lower interest but still debt). Second way, you will still have money after the debt is paid off.
I agree in general. Just pointing out paying debt but not paying interest is better than paying debt and interest
What happens if you don't pay off credit card debt?
And what's wrong with making minimum payments until your financial situation improves?
Been there, good old fashion discipline to pay it off. A 0% offer helps too.
If it’s only 6k why don’t ya do a 0% balance transfer to a new card and you should be able to pay it off in 6 months
Look at LendingClub, Prosper, and LightStream.
