My wife started as an M at Accenture earlier this year coming from industry. I’ve never worked at Accenture or any b4, but I had to explain to her how up or out works. She also didn’t know that she came in with 24 months at level and what that meant. Really surprised none of this was communicated during hiring or by her manager.

Unless you think you can turn your staff aug work into a lucrative exit opportunity, personally I’d exit most staff auf at a step back even, just to get into a more promising career track. That said, I don’t do well in staff aug as I’m always driving to what is next
FWIW: if you are currently doing staff aug work, I wouldn’t consider the move to Deloitte as a step back. Titles are completely arbitrary, and your role as an SC at your staff aug firm is probably different than what is expected as an SC at Deloitte. Comparing the two titles may be apples to oranges
Just something to consider

I completely agree. Everyone on here talking about moving for no less than 20% increase in salary but longer term this seems like a no brainer. Thank you all!
Go to Deloitte. Worth the pay cut to get out of staff aug. money will adjust over the long run and exceed what you would be making at your current employer
Depends what Deloitte is going to have you do. If you just fall into the general technical staffing pool I can assure you most of your work will be effectively staff aug.
D1 - it’s in Finance & Enterprise Performance
Take it. Network like hell.
F&EP - run as far away from it as far as you can unless you enjoy being in projects forever doing routine work and glorified pmo responsibilities.
D2, wait is FEP the old DFT? In which case oh boy you better love ERP PMO.
Yep a lot of Finance Transformation got mapped into F&EP along with Global Business Services and Outsourcing Advisory. Basically PMO work all the time with little room to innovate.
I retract my suggestion. Run for the hills, OP.
