My final round with Deloitte for UK Tech Consulting Manager position soon. Strangely it’s not a PMD round as it usually is for other Big4/tech consulting firms.
1. Can anyone tell me if they’ve been through the whole process without speaking to PMD? (First round Sr Manager, second Case Interview by a manager and third again by a manager) 2. What is a typical salary to expect? I was asked in screening but kept it vague (e.g can discuss later bla bla). I was hoping 75-80 (ridiculous?)
Hi guys, Now VMware is offering me a 35% percent hike of what I am earning at DellEmc. I just completed one year at DellEmc. Total 2.7YOE But I don't like to go out of Dell, due to some personal commitments I am planning to switch.
Is it a good time to switch?
Can I talk with my manager ?
Are they able to hike the salary of what VMware is offering? Please suggest me.

Go with ACN…seems you are young. Spend couple years and boomerang. The 6% 401k will quadruple due to compounding. You can try to have EY counter but be prepared to leave and act quickly. Don’t forget to get it in writing with effective date if they counter

No offense, but making a name for yourself means nothing if you aren’t even coming close to your offer a year from now. If you’re going to stay, stay to do the work you want to do not so much the “I’ll make up the $ over time by succeeding”, you most likely won’t.
Two other thoughts -
1. You can push Acn to put you closer to the work that you find cool and end up with a role closer to what you want
2. You can push EY to counter offer to match, which they may or may not

I’m still
Conflicted but appreciate a partners thoughts
No guarantee you get a 15% bump this year at EY
Guaranteed 45% bump today at Accenture
Do the math

Got 25% bump. Now im really not sure
Tbh discounted Accenture stock is the biggest and most underrated perk. It's a gift that keeps on giving even after you leave the company - not worth missing out.
I just joined Accenture at a similar package. 2 weeks in, love it so far. Chase the $$$$
DM me close to your start date and I’ll share some pointers! Happy to help.
Accenture. It’s a no brainer. No more independence BS plus all the other things people mentioned above.
It sounds like you’re scared of the unknown, which is normal. Make a name for yourself at Accenture and get compensated well for it.
the 6% match is after 2 years btw
Fully vests after 2 years, but the match begins on Jan 1 or July 1 (whichever closest) after your first full year of employment.

Their 6 percent match and allowance of Roth 401k is far more generous than B4 and really adds up. Once you’re vested everything is vested from then on, unlike some places that roll vesting of new dollars in.
All consulting firms are desperate to keep good talent right now. I would ask EY to match the base salary. If they can’t, take the offer from Accenture.
Ask EY to counter. These big firms have the budget to match if they want to. If they don’t, you know you weren’t as appreciated there as u thought.
Come on over! As someone else said, if you don’t like it, boomerang back. Definitely do what makes you happy! We spend far too much time at work to be miserable.
Wonder what role you are taking ? 3 yoe gives 140k , that seems a lot
I got a similar offer. Role is data science within strategy. My understanding is that there’s a lot of sold projects and a pretty thin bench right now, so there’s a ton of demand specifically in the data world. Location is TX.
If you are liking what you do at EY then I would try to push for them to match the salary Accenture is offering. Also not a lot but an additional benefit, the EY Pension is 2.5% of your salary each year and vests after 3 years. As well, if you leave now the $5k special 401k contribution will not have fully vested so note sure the 6% match at Accenture is that beneficial to start.
Don't fall into the trap. You're looking at, easily 50k a year difference, probably doing some very similar work. At 3 years of experience, I'm assuming you're relatively young. That 50k has a lot of value over multiple years.
Maybe your current company could match, and in that case it may be worth staying, but only if it's clear the only reason you considered the offer was bc of comp.
Take it. That is a huge salary increase and you’re still early in your career.
Also, which part of accenture are you joining? Strat, technology, consulting?
If you are doing anything technical - go to accenture.
Their training plan is great. Also....they are less risk averse so there will be more opportunities there.
This all assumes you are joining a group inside Accenture that plays to your strengths
Nearly 45% of EY consulting is ex Accenture. That's my experience obviously I've not seen any data. I'm myself an ex Accenture. I loved my role there, my work and everything. I love EY even more today. I'll move back to Accenture if I get 25%+ hike. My experience EY and Accenture are somewhat similar. Chase the money between these 2.
With 115 at a 4% raise per year will get you to 140k in 5 years.
With 145k at 4% raise per year will get you close to 170k in 5 years. Your starting numbers matter.
I would agree that half of everyone I meet at EY is former Accenture.
What group for each? I made a similar jump — feel free to DM
What part of Accenture are you joining? 145 is quite high for 3 YOE. That’s higher than strat pay.
Go for Accenture.
