Sorry to hear this. have you looked into job share situations (ie you and another person share a role 50/50)? Had clients who did this and seemed to work well! Also, getting back into routine is hard! Maybe reevaluate what elements of your day to day aren’t presently working and try to trouble shoot. Do you need a house cleaner or meals cooked? For us, having the right childcare in place via daycare makes all the difference.
not a common thing but it exists!
Have you asked if part time is an option at your current job? I just moved to a part time schedule after reaching the end of my rope and quitting without another job lined up. I was surprised when they asked if I would consider staying on part time if it was the hours that were the issue. I think the realities of pandemic parenting have prompted companies to consider arrangements they may not have previously. Could be worth a try!
I returned to my job after my first and negotiated a part time role. She is 12 now. I’ve changed roles and companies but my schedule has remained. Best thing I ever did.
The Mom Project might be another route to look into.
Also worth asking about part time roles at your current company per VP1. But the one thing I’d add is to pressure test whether the role itself is actually a part time workload. Companies can be inconsistent there
Never heard of the mom project. Thank you!
I used to be a natural beauty, now I’m just natural ...lol
