There’s an Oktoberfest there. Best way to get there if no bus is probably rent a car or rent one on turo. Or fly into eagle instead of vail if the cost isn’t too different?
Lots of cool stuff around, piney lake is a nice place, or maybe go to glenwood springs for the hot springs for a few hours.
Cheers
Yeah sorry meant fly into eagle/vail instead of Denver!
If you don’t have a car, Colorado Mountain Express (CME) is probably your best bet to getting there. You’ll be in a van, not a bus and it’ll be 2ish hours, not 3.
For restaurants, my favourites are Osaki’s, La Bottega, Alpenrose, Matsuhisa. A lot of people like Mountain Standard and Sweet Basil. The Little Diner is good for brunch. Red Lion and Blu Cow are good for lunch. It’s off season so some restaurants might be closed or only open some days.
Activities around that time there are plenty of good hikes around
There’s a main area for vail that’s very walkable with restaurants and things ( the arrabelle hotel is awesome but the Westin and grand Hyatt are great and cheaper - like a 20 min walk from the town). You can rent bikes and hike but it will be colder at the end of October, possibly snowing. Check the vail website for festivals. Mountain standard restaurant is great but make ressies. Matsuhisa is great sushi- a nobu restaurant. You can also stop at Dillon lake if you’re driving from Denver it’s on the way. 30 min further from vail you’ll be in boujee beaver creek where they have beautiful ritz Carlton for brunch and a little town to walk In. Breckenridge is also within 30 min and is more chill. Love just getting a nice hotel in vail for the weekend, getting good food and going to the spa and hot tubs there!
