That’s really high. I’m in LA County but not DWP although I have lived in DWP before. My water bill is about $110/month and I have 1/3 acre lot. DWP charges tiered rates, are you being charged for excessive usage? You either have a leak or your bill includes something weird. For example, was the house vacant for some period of time before you moved in? Could you be paying for water from before you moved in? Ask when the last meter read took place. Are you paying services fees for having the water turned on or something like that? If it’s none of those things, I would first turn off all my water and then look at the meter, see if it’s moving. Wait 15 minutes, see if it moved at all. If the meter is moving, you have a leak. Next turn on each sprinkler circuit. Look for broken lines, or broken heads. I have a drip line and it came undone and water poured out when that sprinkler was on. Look for any muddy spots after the sprinkler runs that could indicate something broken under ground or water running out to the street. My bet is that you are paying for water from before you moved in.
It seams that way. Except that I also have a flat $48/month charge just to have water available. However I have SCE for electricity and I’ve heard that DWP is cheaper.
Sounds about right. It's every other month remember, and that typically includes power, water and sanitation. My house is a similar size and ranges from 450 - 700
Oh....then that's insane.
Holy fuk big boy what are you doing

No idea, moved in recently and this is the first bill. I know home ownership is expensive but this sounds outrageous
No. Lol.
You might have a leak. That sounds excessive.
I live in 1900sq ft single story, both myself and my spouse WFH. Our water bills range from $200-$400 every 2 months. Do you have a large yard? The previous owner installed astroturf and low maintenance desert plants so I’m thankful that we don’t need to water our yard.

Thanks, similar houses but very different utility costs. I think something is off
LOL. No. I have an 1100sq ft single level home with a bigger front and backyard. Even with sprinklers running 3x a week along normal water usage for a family of three, my bill hovers around $100/mo for water.
Under GoldenStateWater as I moved to Long Beach. But even when I was living in Torrance renting a townhome, my water bill with LADWP wasn't too far off from what I'm still paying now.
Leak for sure or something was left running before you moved in.
No. You need to check for leaks.
