Start small and have a long runway. Don’t follow get rich quick stocks as the pump has likely already occurred and you are late. Best advice is to set monthly recurring deposits in a s&p fund. Paper trade (practice) until you know the markets in an out. I have been trading and investing 15 years. The market is always changing and will confuse you. Keep it simple

What are some good modern/post-pandemic personal finance books you can recommend?

I’m 36 and I recently reached a net worth of 1 million dollars. I thought I was doing good but then I see other people with several millions and can’t help but wonder how they got there.
I feel I’m doing everything I’m supposed to (I save, I invest, I max out my 401k, IRA, etc...).

What can I do to upgrade my game and reach those higher numbers?

Hi all, I am trying to DCA bi-weekly into Vanguard ETFs, (VO, VTI etc). It seems like Fidelity does not support auto buying of non-Fidelity ETFs. So I was wondering which of these options you think is best?

1. Open a Vanguard Invest account
2. Look for Fidelity ETFs that are similar to Vanguard ETFs
3. Use smaller brokerages like SoFi l, Robinhood etc.

I really do not want to manage nor be active. My goal is to log-in like once every 6 months.

Thank you all.

Also, I have been hiding one of the company where I had worked for 45 days and then absconded due to personal issues. Would it create any trouble? They had created my PF account though. Any help would be highly appreciated

Hi everyone,
One of my friends, he made a switch just 6 months back hoping he would get a better work environment a better package, but now he is just frustrated with the working environment, being a backend developer he has been asked to just fix bugs for almost 5 months now and that too in javascript without any KTs or any other trainings when he clearly did mention in the interview that he does not have prior knowledge on javascript.

What should he do? Any suggestions?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
