I mean you sound qualified (far more than I am) but like... why... most of the people here were just trying to springboard their early career and end up at a FAANG job anyways? Unless you got really siloed, I’m assuming you’re making good money at AMZN and it sounds like you’ve accumulated applicable skills. Plus the RSUs... 5 YOE is looking at almost 400% return on your sign on options plus anything else they’ve given you in the interim 😳

Consulting is tough and sometimes you don’t get on what you want or what’s good for your development, but instead get tossed on what’s needed. Make sure it’s a good firm that looks good on the resume and when interviewing ask about the projects they have lined up, the role, your lead. I’d stay at Amazon if the well being, pay and stock options are good. You won’t get all 3 at a consulting firm IMO. What ever you chose be analytical and think of your work life balance and future outcome. Best of luck to you.
Didn't mention powerpoint, unqualified. ;P
LOL!
Yeah I’d say you’ve a fantastic chance at a top firm. Apply away!
Deloitte has a great reputation for operations. So does McKinsey. Reach out to a consultant on LinkedIn asking to chat w them about their experience doing ops at xyz firm (helpful if you search for operations as a key word). If you have other things in common, that helps too (eg went to same school, they also worked at Amazon, etc.). You can use all of these criteria in a LinkedIn search or search for keywords on Google and include “LinkedIn” in your search query. You have Amazon on your resume, expects a high response rate for these cold messages (I’m guessing 10%).
For back story: came into Amazon right after stonks hit 2k. It’s at the point where it’s a well established company and they weren’t willing to negotiate my salary when I came in even though I tried. The RSU grants are no longer off the charts like they used to be. I’m up for promo but want to see what else is out there - I might plan to boomerang at some point just to get a base increase. Current base is barely breaking 100k and sitting well under $150k with stonks. I’ve worked the crazy hours (extra clothes at the office and everything), so I’d like to be compensated for them. Primary concern is the fact that I didn’t know that all these firms have subdivisions and some are better than others?
