Why do we give awards to students for ideas that will never happen/are ridiculous? Netflix will never make an ad unit on their app, that would sell you Burger King burgers when burgers appear in movies or shows. That's just stupid. How did this win? What am I missing?

Ricoh GR is super great. Compact and powerful
The size is life-changing. I started taking photos again everywhere I go.

I love the canon sx740. Compact, fits in pocket. Excellent optical zoom. Wifi.

I take a lot of hiking-wildlife shots so the big zoom combined with small size camera is what makes this great for my use.
Get into film! Pentax k1000.
Love film but not exactly what I’m looking for for this purpose! I have some great film cameras already in my family :)

Could try a Polaroid or Instax instant camera.
Bonus points if it can connect to WiFi, even more if water resistant!
Get a film point and shoot. Any Contax or Yashica might be overprice now but there are lots of other good ones. I also have a Fujifilm X70 that’s been discontinued but basically a smaller version of the X100. Like what others said, Ricoh GR probably the best for digital point and shoot, the film version is also legendary.
I have a Sony cyber shot. Checks the boxes pretty well.
Is the X100 not small enough for you? It's pretty compact as it is. Are you looking for something with zoom and a bit more shooting range? I had a Canon Powershot G series camera. It took great photos, even underwater for scuba and snorkeling. Before that, I used to be a big fan of the Canon digital Elph cameras, which are consumer friendly, tiny pocketable point and shoots but perhaps not what you're looking for. The G series is solid if you want something that's a bit of a middle ground. Note that the G series I had wasn't water resistant but had a waterproof housing that allows for underwater operation. Today's models might be different; haven't used anything new from Canon for several years.

Any current iPhone is going to be better than those point and shoot cameras. Just get yourself a dedicated photo printer.
i’ve been getting stock updates for the x100v for a year but they’re sold out everywhere except second hand. honestly that’s my dream for exactly what you’re talking about haha. otherwise i’d probably second the ricoh gr iii. rugged, no nonsense close-ish in quality to x100 picture wise
I love my Olympus tg-6
The Fujifilm Finepix XP70 is a fun little camera that is waterproof and also has wifi. You can get a used one on eBay for like $70
