I’m drawn to environments where people, operations, and business performance intersect—but I’m still evaluating what that looks like long-term: PE-backed healthcare, portfolio operations, health tech, or something I haven’t considered yet.

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $400k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!

I am currently working on my MBA in a professional evening and weekend program at a highly accredited university. I am thinking about transferring to a much smaller private online program, specifically because they offer a concentration in organizational health, which directly builds on my doctoral research. Does great depth and specialization outweigh the value of a highly respected generalist degree?
