How dare you imply that Bain has a diversity problem? They issued a diversity and inclusion policy and even hired a Chief Diversity Officer.
I mean...look at the PR statement for her hiring. It's got her surrounded by an Asian woman, another black women, and two white women (just in case she gets any ideas).
To paraphrase Bain's favorite son, Mitt Romney... They've got binders full of colored folks.

Just because you didn’t get an interview with Bain doesn’t mean it’s racially motivated. Like I get it’s upsetting to not interview, but to generalize the entire company by labeling them as racist is quite the leap
Absolutely not why you didn't get an interview. Out recruiting team actively tries to bring in diverse candidates and candidly are willing to loosen other requirements to do so in many cases.
Pro
I don’t think B1 meant it that way.
Think of it as a funnel. At McKinsey, we’ve done a lot of work to widen the funnel to increase the number of candidates who have a shot. But the bar to succeed in interviews is still the same.
Candidates are as qualified and now have a greater access to opportunity because we flexed the requirements (pedigree) at top of the funnel.

I don’t know if there is or isn’t validity to that claim, but in general consulting interviews are a crapshoot. I am at BCG but never got a McK interview. I know people at McK who never got a Bain interview. It’s 99% just a whim of Recruiting

What a moronic take

Far more likely that they thought you weren't fratty enough than it being racially motivated.
I know someone who got offers at Bain and BCG, but didn't get into Kearney. Recruiting is just a
weird like that sometimes.
Pro
It’s unpredictable. I didn’t get interviews with EYP, Strategy&, Kearney, OW and Deloitte but interviewed with all MBB, landing two offers - generalist consulting.

Earlier in my career, during a push to get into fed consulting, I managed to get offers from all of B4 + BAH + several fed boutiques, but couldn't even get a phone screen from AFS.
Sometimes it's just how things shake out. 🤷
