Honestly. If you can do it, and no one is checking on you, that says more about your management than you. Bc if someone was pulling that on me, I’d call them out on it. 18 hours of work billed, and 2 hours of actual work. Unless you’re a superstar, I’d catch your bull 💩!

I used to just work for an hour or two. Work was simple send chase emails out in the morning check-in at 3pm then again at 5pm compile data and send it. Now if I missed anything it was a big deal so the times I was work were very important and bc I never missed anything and did my 2hrs of work well my manager was freed up to do more important task and was thankful that I could manage it all alone he never checked in on hours charged. I did occasionally have crazy days but those were rare. That was one of my fav engagements and it was the first few months of quarantine too

Lol...this post made my day!!! Kudos to you. Best of luck on your job hunt. I'm pretty much the same but slightly better. I work 6 hrs a day and bill 9 though. Cant care less about our leadership. The screwed my promo 2 yrs in a row with all above and beyond metrics. I have zero morale left

I decided early in my career that no matter how disappointed I was with my job I would never compromise my integrity.

SA2, I’m with you 100%, until you’re talking about the people whose method of succeeding is by attacking and ruining the lives of others. I would not give them the satisfaction of anything, and if I had it my way, I’d fire them all right now. To VP1, while I don’t agree with him/her, I wish him/her the best.

Lol, I bet compliance is gonna track this guy (this can't be a woman) down

Not GPS - and nah, compliance flagged me for an Amex charge I made in December, 2019, in July of this year...I’ll (hopefully) be long gone by the time they find this. But from that turnaround time, I feel like they’re underpaid too.

What did you do for remaining 6 hrs??

Thank you all for the responses!! FWIW - I regardless of how I feel about the leadership at Deloitte, my team and my client aren’t suffering because of me. While I am doing the bare minimum, it is still enough to get my team/client to a place where we achieve our project goals. I would best define it as giving just the right amount of fucks to get by

Any chance you’re GPS?

Do you think this is more or less possible in GPS?

I remember when I was desperate for work out of school and UHY and BDO denied even giving me an interview. I remember one of the recruiters said I wasn’t good enough or I need to retake a few classes. Well, here I am doing amazing and almost manager at the number one firm in the world. Just wanted to say, only YOU can define your career. Only YOU can make things happen and only SOME will believe in you. I’m glad I’m here and under my local leadership. They truly believe in me.
