A few months ago we were def in a crunch. Right now we are growing a lot have a lot of new business and a pretty positive culture. Happy to talk more if you’d like
Messaged you!

It’s fine. I worked there earlier this year on a couple of projects. A lot of the day to day CDs come from a fairly outsider background: long gone digital agencies, music marketing, design. And it shows often in the ideas that got put forward to clients. There was always an attempt as well to tackle social issues with every idea which to be 💯 fell flat 10 out of 10 times. Clients don’t want a speech about George Floyd during a presentation on pancakes. You could do worse but you couldn’t definitely do better.
Thank you. Helpful.
Wow. I think we may want to save Vice/Virtue from OP.
Every single agency is a sweat shop. Look at this bowl. It’s just a litany of people talking about how burnt out, tired, and bored they are of advertising and agencies.
I’m talking about other factors. Culture. How people are. Are people happy? Do they enjoy the place?
You can have it. 🚮
A few months ago I heard it was a total sweat shop from an ACD. She left soon after for a CD gig elsewhere.
Is is an absolute sweatshop. Underpaid too. Revolving door.
Jill Rothman is one of the best people in the industry.

Can you explain? Not sure I got the best impression of her during my time at Vice. Could have been a rare off moment.
I’d love to work at Vice! Heard amazing things and just look at the content they produce. Way to go OP!
Go with your gut, nothing good comes easy
Which office?
Everything’s changing quite a bit now with Cris And Collins at the helm. I believe for the better.
Pro’s:
Progressive
Attracts clients who want to do cultural impact stuff.
Aesthetically forward.
Very receptive and supportive to proactive work.
Good camaraderie
Really value diversity
Cons:
-Disorganized.
-Will pitch anything with a pulse.
-Not all CD’s are actually good creatives (but have great backgrounds in other cultural spheres like events etc), so sometimes work with a POV will push out conceptually sound stuff.
- strat have a tendency to focus on sociological big picture stuff over psychological, human insight
- hard to advance your pay YoY without serious push. In general slightly under market rates.
So if you want to make some youthful, fashion forward stuff and don’t mind to grind for it, could be right. If you want a smooth sailing, well paid job without surprises, maybe not.
I worked one of the int. Offices, but have collaborated with teams globally. Feel free to DM.
Sam Bergen still the CD there? He’s a good CD
loved working with that dude

My experience with them back in college was rough. For 2 years in a row a team ( HR and creative team) was supposed to. Typically agencies do a big talk to the whole program and then visit random classrooms. They cancelled day of both times. The second time my friend found the creative team hanging out in our program building and were reviewing portfolios (apparently very ruthlessly). No one I know works there because of it
