Okay, serious talk: is anyone planning a real pivot out of not just advertising, but marketing overall?

I pivoted TO advertising at some point from a career that was even more unstable, and while my advertising career was “soaring” as one of the recruiters said, it’s really not. I worked agency-side, client-side, and what I’m seeing is we’re all overworked and constantly fighting for the same roles, that to be fair, is not that well-paid for the amount sweat and tears put in.

I got an email from IRCC in April, saying that the application has been approved, and will receive further notice on when I should send my passport for stamping.

But I still haven't received any updates on the next steps.

Does anyone else feel like people who are generally nice in person and on calls sound mean or stand-offish in emails and text/chat? It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️

What’s something a guy has said in a meeting you could never pull off as a woman? I’ll go. One time a guy creative was presenting his work and said “yeah this was just me being lazy and not wanting to do any work” and he literally suggested we do the same ads as last year, with a different celebrity plugged in. CDs in the meeting laughed and considered it for a minute. If I had presented that and said I was being lazy, I would prob be put on the chopping block.
