Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Early on I had a job where I had to travel a lot, and I thought it was going to be fun. Wrong! Doesn't take long to realize that every office park and every cubicle farm is essentially the same. Even the airports and hotel rooms started to look alike. Having weekends when I don't have to think about going someplace pointless is fine by me.
It's such a bizarre badge of honor we try to earn! I mean seriously, I'm grateful for the expensed meals and personal vacations covered by miles and points. but everything in moderation, am I right?!
Seriously the best thing I did for my work life balance was moving jobs to where I never had to travel for work again! Now I only travel when I am actually going somewhere fun or to see family, and it's been so much better for my mental health to not be traveling so much for work. So, just remember that's an option if/when you get sick of it! :)
Honestly there is no better feeling than having a wide open weekend with absolutely no plans. That is how my weekend was as well and I cannot even tell you how nice it was. I did end up getting out of the house to go to meet some friends but other than that I didn't do much.
