One of my crewmates almost fell overboard during deck duty. He got chewed out for that even though it wasn't his fault. It got me wondering if any of you witnessed someone fall to the water while on duty. How bad was it?

Oh yeah, luckily no injuries were had but I've seen men fall overboard more than a handful of times.

I have witnessed a crewmate fall overboard while on duty once. It was a very close call, and the crewmate was very lucky to be rescued. The ship was underway at the time, and the crewmate was working on the deck. He was not wearing a safety harness, and he slipped and fell overboard. The ship was able to stop in time, and a lifeboat was launched to rescue the crewmate. The crewmate was unharmed, but it was a very scary experience for everyone involved.

Anyone here choose between A&M, Alix, and some other usual suspect consulting companies? What made you pick A&M? Do employees generally tend to stick around? How is the culture, decent folks or sharp elbows everywhere? Is the total comp as good as advertised or is this false advertising? I have offers from A&M and Alix and Strat& and am trying to decide soon. Not just looking at comp, but looking to work hard at a place where I can learn a lot too and like the people around me.
