What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.
I’m new here. Can I please get some likes 😩
What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.

Oh hell, yeah. If I wasn’t worried about my job, I would be a lot more open with my political and personal beliefs. But I’ve seen far too many people be canceled or have their lives ruined for over sharing it online. So I just keep my social media private and Non-controversial.
Agree. As a hiring manager, one of the first things I do once I whittle down the applicants is a simply look at social media. If you want to be a fool out there, I assume you will bring that behavior to the work place. Is that petty - maybe, but I see the correlation during hiring.
I would assume a lot of government workers feel that way. I tend to type out something and then look at it and delete it rather than publish it. Sometimes just typing it out helps me vent.
Agreed 100%
I only post objective statements on my LinkedIn. I have an anonymous blog where share actual opinions.
Sound advice!
Just before 2020, my dept received a memo from the governor's office to state that what we put on our socials could cause a separation in service. There were so many meetings and things said due to this memo, I stopped posting more than a simple update post on my kids as they were graduating HS and moving on to college.
Wow that's intense! Thanks for sharing 😊
YUP! Because I work with a LOT of thoughtless AH who think nothing of running and telling
EVERYTHING we have done and posted on social media is available to the world . Forever. When I was a young woman dancing on giant speakers in clubs getting everybody out on the dancefloor, no one took pics or filmed it because there were no cell phones at the time!
Unfortunately for this generation and all future ones there is no such thing as privacy any more. So, balance being a maniac on Friday nights with the knowledge someone may be filming you. Employers DO look us up.And we can look them up. If you are unsure what is out there, just google yourself to see what pops up. And dance on the subwoofers anyway! I guarantee when you are too old to move and only have your memories left you will appreciate that you LIVED your life! I am going to slide into my geriatric years wind blown, danced out, partied out, and laughing at all the brilliant fun I had and shenanigans I got myself and my friends up to! Careers are great, but they do not define our entire lives. The last bit of advice is create a fake file out there. Unless it is related to work and in a positive light, social media needs to entered anonymously.
