Our ceremony & reception are on a lawn, so to play it safe & not sink into the grass I’m looking for a chunkier heel. Bummed, bc I’d LOVE to wear a pointy black stiletto (something I’d wear again) & not seeing a ton of cool chunky options. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! 👠🖤🙏

I ordered these in silver for my wedding! These may be up your alley too https://www.katespade.com/products/soiree-slingback-pumps/KA351-001.html?ogmap=PLA%7CRTN%7CGOOG%7CSTND%7Cm%7CSITEWIDE%7CMain%7CKS_RTL_Google_PLA_Signal_NA_Brand_National_PMax_NA_BAU%7CSitewide_Regular_Core_NA%7C%7C18352399633%7C%7CUS&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI39fq5bTy_AIV8PvjBx0afgpBEAQYAiABEgKf0vD_BwE

This is helpful. Thank you for sharin this.

I’ve never tried these. Do they really work in action?

Yes, they do. The chunkier, the better. You should avoid white or light colors.

I ordered the Noel heels from dolce vita and my wedding was completely on grass. I didn’t have any issues at all and really enjoyed how comfortable the shoes were

I got these at Etsy and loving them so far. Very comfortable while still high. I plan on switching the white sash after for like a blue or black so I can use them again!

Omg. These are beautiful!! Are there any other colors available?

Hi, OP! Noel heels would be perfect. They have chunkier heels also.

Asos has a lot of great options. The megan tulle block heeled shoes are pretty popular. You should check it out.

My mom’s friend was supposed to come to my wedding in a week and just cancelled. I’ve never met her but my mom insisted she be invited. This person already sent us a check which we deposited already; we already sent a thank you card. This person left me a VM saying they were sorry they couldn’t come; they have leukemia and their Dr. didn’t approve. Do I need to call them back? I would like to avoid an awkward phone call about personal matterwith a stranger but also don’t want to be insensitive.

Have you talked about your wedding with coworkers? I made the mistake of saying I had to leave work a little early one day because I was going to do a tasting at my venue. That starts a debate on why one shouldn’t get married, how much wedding costs & what a waste it is, dresses are stupid because you only wear them once, etc. I haven’t talked about my wedding much, but I didn’t appreciate this. I ignored the negative comments and we moved the conversation along. Not talking about that anymore!

Are you paying for bridesmaid hair and make-up? Was a little sticker shocked $200 per person before gratuity, just adds up quickly with that many people😬 Not requiring it but wanted to offer it if they want to be more glammed up, but now seeing online that’s it’s considered quite rude to not cover it for them? Maybe just cover one and they can do the other if they want? Don’t want to be rude if it’s expected but also don’t want to blow our budget… any perspective on the “norm” appreciated!

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

My partner and I are planning to elope. We want the wedding and the trip that will go with it to be for us. That being said, we want to throw a party of some kind to celebrate with our friends. We're pretty lost as far as the general etiquette around this goes. Do you have to tell venues it's for a "wedding" reception? Is it expected that we will still make a gift registry?
