Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? I applaud companies that take these steps, but I'm too cynical to believe they're making any real difference. There are 10 multinational companies responsible for like 70%+ of all greenhouse gas emissions. Unless they commit to change (they won't), nothing any of us or are companies do will be enough to offset the harm they're causing.
That's so true, but those companies won't be investing any money into it, they're only interested in making money.
I believe we should do the right thing just because it's the right thing. But as to whether what we do in our offices will change the course of environmental devastation, no, I wouldn't expect that to happen any time soon. But, I'd like to be an optimist, and I do believe that small actions, done over time by enough people, will eventually make a difference.

I agree, we should do the right thing as it is the right thing, but many companies would have to comply also for it to make that difference over a period of time. I like that you are doing those things, you are doing something right and good so I applaud you for making those efforts😊
I think even small CSR steps can build momentum. Switching to energy-efficient lighting or cutting plastics may seem minor, but it signals intent.
