Moved back in with my parents aged 23 for 2 years rent free. Saved every penny I could for a deposit for a house and bought a property at 25.
I’m 34 now and had a number of false starts with my career. Plus a small dose of personal turmoil which didn’t help. If I could do it all again I would have done this.
Moved back last year cos of Covid and still here.... going to move back to London when I can justify the cost / weather starts getting good again
I moved back w my parents in May 2020. My apartment lease was up, and didn’t love the idea of living alone in lockdown. Planning on moving back to the city this summer (I’m 28yrs old). It’s been frustrating at times being at home under their rules, and dating / social life is mostly non existent, but I’ve never had this much uninterrupted time with my parents - and know I’ll look back fondly on this time in the future
True, I’m gonna miss the great food and laundry done for me :(
Me! But this is mostly a result of COVID - I’m now aiming to move out by June/July this year (ideally before I turn 24), assuming the COVID situation improves
If ever? Why would you never move out?! It’s a good idea to at least try living away for a couple of years. It’s hard to date when you live with your parents... but if that doesn’t bother you then it’s a good way to save up.
Some people always live with parents e.g. some Indians
Yep moved home due to covid in June 2020. I was paying 1000 a month in rent to live in Clapham where everything was shut down - made no sense.
In a way, I’m loving being at home and all the money I’m able to save. Will maybe move back to london, depends how often we’re needed in the office.
