Soft layoffs at ProServe today ?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Layoff going on in Synechron ?

Hi all, I am working at Natwest Group RBS and I have recently applied for Product Manager Role(gurgaon) in Gartner. How much CTC I should ask and what is the general hike and bonus they give on yearly basis and can someone provide some insights on work life balance and leave policy?

Op you’ll be fine - just don’t sound defensive or argumentative. Don’t admit you were at fault either, unless you blatantly were. Just say things like I am going to take note of this going forward, or I’m very passionate to do well here and I will work on these points etc etc. sound pro active and mature, not a teenager who got caught stealing the Car keys. Don’t direct blame and lay out obvious circumstances that led to a poor outcome by starting off with “yes this could’ve been handled much better, but I would like to briefly tell you what caused this”.
Update: someone gave me poor feedback about me not being very responsive on email. They couldn’t complain about my work quality because I always produce good work. I’m quitting in January so screw you all, especially after I’ve worked my butt off for you. ✌️
How were your first year performance reviews ? How are things going on your project ? If it is bad performance then it can’t come as a surprise. But I doubt they would fire a bta. Have you outright disobeyed your managers or pissed someone off really badly ? Not too sound condescending but the btas in our firm are spoon fed and the bar is so low. The consultant level is the real analyst to be very honest...
Just a phone convo and it sounds like it might be more of a warning as they used the terminology of “as we move forward.” Thoughts? Can’t help but freak out a little.
Hmm... Layoffs are around the corner at ACN. It's a bit weird to have an MD talk to you instead of a Manager or SM
Hm. Maybe it's an issue with someone else that they want you to weigh in on? That's the optimistic version...
Y’all all chill - probably feels obligated to give feedback X often - u less you’ve been sucking the proverbial wang you’re probably fine
No. Partners want to provide feedback and also get to know their staff. If HR is invited then get your resume ready
Yes
Circulate the resume.
👀 ... Hmm ok, good luck OP, let us know how it goes!
Is it good performance?
Can you give any more details?
I know my work has definitely slipped a little recently with the holidays, but I haven’t been told anything by my counselor or given any feedback directly from anyone else. Just out of the blue got a meeting invite from ppd to chat about “work practices” and wanting to hear my perspective.
Do you have a mgr on your project?
@d1 I can think of a manager I pissed off recently on a project, but that was because it was so poorly scoped out and obviously I wasn’t the right resource for the project. Also got normal if not almost great performance reviews. I’m assuming this is regarding a more recent project.
D1 is right, great advice.
@ OP, if the prior project was poorly scoped out and you weren’t the right resource, why did it end with your manager pissed off at you? If anything, work as a team and help bail out your M in that situation. (Then, take note of how shitty they are and try to avoid them for all future projects.) I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s exactly what the partner wants to talk to you about. And what D1 said. 👌🏼
When is the meeting?
Welp. Did they never tell you directly? That's poor management
