People are starting to leave my job and I am not super close to them so I can’t ask where they are going. This gives me hope to also leave this year. Have you noticed the same at your job?

I personally think it's fine to ask people where they're going even if you're not very close to them. It's just a normal part of saying goodbye and having conversations with colleagues. I'm feeling a little bit hopeful for this year, personally, because I am starting to get more interviews and responses than I was before.

I actually don’t agree. I don’t like when people pry and ask me so I don’t do the same.

There were some articles a few months back about how job hoppers had been replaced by job huggers, people hanging on to their jobs for dear life. It occurred to me I'd been seeing some of that, as no one seemed to have moved on in a while. I wouldn't be surprised if that began to change. I imagine some of my colleagues would be on their way if an opportunity presented itself.

Omg I love the term job huggers

Not many leaving my job but we are hiring people which I take as a good sign

That’s great!

I have not seen this at my job, but I am hearing it from other companies. The rise of AI and how it is changing roles and processes seems to be putting a unique pressure on people.

Partner quit their job, and according to job contract, have to pay back "training costs" since they left before an agreed-upon amount of time. When it comes to taxes, how should I treat this amount? In the past, I've been able to use a W2C if I payback sign-on bonus, but since the "training" was not income, not sure what to do.
