I want to spend the rest of my life wherever I choose to, rather than chained to an overpriced designer office desk in SoHo.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the “we have an office when you need it, but work however you work best.” And I think the best agencies are taking that approach.

If you really read my comments to understand them and not to reply with you're own bs spiel you'd know nobody is saying that 🙄
Yes. I’d absolutely come in to meet with any team, my boss or to brainstorm.
But once you go to the office for a few years and stay late, you’ll realize how dumb much of it is. How much of it is people showing up early or staying late to make a good impression, or just perusing the internet and cosplaying their jobs during those 30 or 60 minute bits of downtime when they could be working out or reading or getting stuff done. And then waking up early, getting out late, and paying for gas or Ubers or the subway to do so. It’s all so wasteful.
And being in doesn’t make anything markedly more efficient. It doesn’t curtail weekend work or 9pm emails or quick turnarounds. And the “culture” you miss is fake fun that’s just as performative. WFH means I can handle the late emails and weekends because I get little moments of rest throughout the day, and I’m not trying to budget 90 minutes for a commute.
I do feel bad for young employees. That’s the one stage in your career where it’s beneficial. But trust me, it’s not better.
Yes I do appreciate in person brainstorms. Or just like, locking ourselves in a space to jam stuff out. But we’ve done pretty well remote too.
Definitely not. Enjoying a bit of a mixture. But Zoom days are brutal.
Hate to break it you but, we're all going to be on zoom for the rest of our working lives. Doesn't matter if you take the call from home or in the office. The days of people gathered around faceless phone speaker are over.
You spend your entire life on a phone screen. Why not add a computer screen into the mix?
Yes
Pandemic has taken away a lot from us. What we can take away from it is shift in work life balance so humans can do more with their life rather than spend time stuck in commute traffic and office desks.
I also feel WFH will improve family structures in the long run as families start to spend more quality time together.
Correct.
Zoom>office
Yes. This is the third room.
Even if you're in meetings 100% of your work day you'll only be Zoomin 30-40% of your "life." Realistically though, you have a few meetings here and there and the rest of your time at home you can use in whatever way you want, productive or otherwise. So yes please, Zoom for life
Yep
Flexible would be great (come in if you want but we’ll handle meetings remotely if you can’t). I’m currently faced with a fully remote offer or a location based hybrid role. The latter I’d choose hands down if they didn’t need me to be LA based—-my goals can’t be tied to this HCOL city anymore #sorrynotsorry

I feel like a lot of people have off base reasons or things not attached to work as motivation. It's understandable but also kinda childish but I'm not stressing it. Rto is happening already and eventually some lines will be drawn. Will be curious to see where things go. I predict a lot of social media fluff and nothing more.
Heck yeah, that's the whole reason I'm not gonna jump ship. Coz I work permanently remote and do better work!
No, I want to spend the rest of my life outside of the office.
Yes without a doubt
Absolutely
Would you prefer to work at an agency that requires you to work out of their office because they want to display their Herman Miller chairs, handcrafted wood conference table, a social media mission control, game room, theater room, and oversized bean bags? Oh and one more thing. You are underpaid and overdue for a raise.
Yes thanks. Phonecalls are good too
