I just got laid off — anyone else get hit this round? ☹️

Industry vets - in your experience how recession proof is insurance? I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. Is it better to stay put?

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? I applied to other positions in the same company. What about reaching out to previous co workers at a different company? Not sure how to navigate this… please help. Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

I got laid off from deloitte. Now i work in cre asset management. I don't love my job. I am on visa (opt stem) . I need to work on finding happiness with my work to be more productive and be happy. In the HR discussion, we both agreed on 30L CTC (10% Variable) and 1L joining bonus. But later after 2-3 days when they need to release the offer, HR is saying they got the approval for 28L CTC(10% variable) and 2L joining bonus.

Should I take that offer and look for other options or straight forward reject the offer and then look for other options?

Also, according to this behaviour of the HR, is it good behaviour?
