Lol first world problems. I survive fine with $48 per day. You don't need to get drinks and apps with every meal...
D2 I think it keeps it simple. Different people have different eating habits - per diems average that out and give the decision making back to the individual.
If it was expenses based the incentive structure there is to max it out
This is a hilarious post
First world problem
So we’re feeding the trolls now, I see
Don't worry, You and your buddies ain't breaking the wall anytime soon, you are marching towards the grinder..
Honestly the only thing useful I learned from this thread is that Accenture apparently does not permit expensing alcohol... woah
I’ve expensed bottle service before 🤷🏻♂️
It’s just not covered EVERY DAY 😂
$50 in per diem is better than $70 in expenses. you get fat.
Life hack: Don’t eat.... you stay in shape and you keep the bread! 😂
I spent 7 years traveling weekly at a firm that did “reasonable” actuals and am now traveling weekly with a firm that does (in general) GSA level per diem.
Personally, I prefer the per diem.
-I value my time and over the course of a year, the number of hours I spent scanning/uploading/itemizing for my actual was ridiculous.
-The number of person-hours spent by finance on submitted expenses... that sh*t is a big overhead.
-Having to argue about individual line items like when I got sick on the road but had to be physically on client site (couldn’t work from the hotel room) so I bought some DayQuil... At least per diem covers meals AND incidentals.
-It keeps your clients from putting restrictions on your choices, and with actuals the client usually gets to see your line items! I generally don’t drink when on the road, but an occasional Scotch after a shitty day is nice.
Trust me, the actuals grass is NOT greener.
That said, your rates seem a bit low. Manageable, I live in Manhattan and can easily eat out or order in ALL THREE meals on less than $50 a day, but on the low side—reason enough not to work for ACN, I guess.
My per dime pays for my Orange Theory classes! It’s like 45/day and I’m at most eating like 25-30 bucks at most
Agreed. The per diem doesn’t come close to covering my 2 bottles of Châteauneuf-du-Pape per day. It’s bloody outrageous
Drive to super market and get food for the week for under $20.
I don't drink alcohol so it's an ok budget for me
Yeah that sucks at Accenture, can’t say that a thing I miss about Accenture
LOL. what a princess
Go to the grocery store on Monday. Pocket extra $150 / wk. Retire early.
