Lol first world problems. I survive fine with $48 per day. You don't need to get drinks and apps with every meal...
D2 I think it keeps it simple. Different people have different eating habits - per diems average that out and give the decision making back to the individual.
If it was expenses based the incentive structure there is to max it out
This is a hilarious post
Lol $50 really?
With Uber Eats / Door Dash/ Post Mates / etc
I can’t believe how stupid this post is
Go on a diet
I'm glad slalom doesnt have this restriction. I spend whatever is "responsible" 😂
I worked with a Accenture team few years back who used to visit McDonald’s frequently for lunch for $1 menu items and pocket the rest.
This thread is bizarre, but perhaps it’s a European perspective. If work is forcing you to be away from home, then your expenses should cover food, laundry, entertainment, additional travel etc. In cities like London, Zurich, Paris, Stockholm a per diem of $50 is going to leave you short-changed.
The entitlement in this post is insane
I would rather have per diem than actuals, and $50 per day is enough. If that’s not enough across each work week, either you have a drinking problem, or you need to start purchasing alcohol from grocery stories instead of at restaurants
my take on this is.. we make folks work on this project crazy work hours with no extra pay. they at least deserve to have a lavish outing and not really worry about the limit. imagine if these practioniers have to charge every hour they work.
$50 buys families a month’s supply in certain parts of the world. Have some shame.
Is it not shameful to complain that $50 is not enough for dinner?
I think that is a low per diem. I’ve never had one that low.
Little 🐠 are sooo cute
Don’t work for Accenture
OP what level are you?
Seriously? From your posts I made an erroneous assumption that you were much younger and inexperienced. You certainly are not doing much to help your image here.
While we do not have per firms, we do have a limit of 50 per day (with receipts) with some leeway if we have are in an expensive city, etc I very rarely go over this amount and I eat healthy (salmon, good salads). When I do order a drink, then it pushes the limit but I absolutely do not think that it is “reasonable” to expect my client to be paying for my drinking habit. And 2 beers with dinner every night is not reasonable either. Should you be able to drink and eat what you like? Sure. But your argument that this is reasonable is not flying.
I’d love per diem. I rarely spend more than $50 per day
while our allowance is 240$ and I'd rather have like 80$ in per diem (not US)
OP What hotel chain are you staying at?
If you don't travel a lot it is hard to get status. I'm at 111 actual nights do far this year, and been doing this long enough do that I have lifetime Titanium at Marriott and lifetime Diamond with Hilton.
As a Strat person, I know everyone else has better actuals or per diem. I wish it were different, but, I have a lot of things I like better being at ACN.
I am surprised you prefer to eat room service, I can count on 1 hand the times I choose that when it want caused by checking in after all the restaurants were closed. It's more expensive, and the quality is lower than in the restaurants.
What’s a “Per diem” meal expense ?
I pity my husband so much more now - his company contracts with Accenture. 🤦🏼♀️😑
Ehn, we all know those are pass through expenses, he probably is. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
M7, I don’t think you understand how a per diem works. It’s not cross comparable with actuals....
where did i suggest that they were cross comparable?
